At times one therefore has the feeling one is listening to a live concert, played just for oneself. Mmmmm, yeah, really nice. Pearly Sue encompasses melancholic euphoria X 12. Unconventional and guaranteed to become addictive. So much so, that after work or school one will be looking forward to getting home just to listen to that new album! www.adacdrive.de, Januar 07

(…) Their extremely unique blend of jazz, pop, hiphop, soul and funk already left Ken Jebsen(radio Fritz) in amazement, and since the Popkomm (where the band performed live) he’s been in absolute awe of the Brendan Adams Trio. The 3 gents go about their work in a very relaxed manner, and create songs which are best enjoyed with a glass of wine. Not heavy, but a variety of warm-sounding jazz/pop songs are offered to listeners. Judging by the quality of the recording this might be a live production, which is great for the music. It sounds honest and grounded, and spreads a certain melancholy. For music lovers who enjoy it somewhat laid back and jazzy I can warmly recommend this album. www.allschools.de, januar 07

The fun that was had by the Brendan Adams Trio at their recording sessions can be heard on the successful debut album Pearly Sue. The album offers a vibey, playful blend of jazz, pop and hiphop and spreads a warm, sunny feeling, especially thanks to the fact that the album does without digital recording techniques and electronics. The twelve song pearls are perfectly suited to switching off from day-to-day stress and just putting your feet up and relaxing. www.bumbanet.de, February 07

The Brendan Adams Trio’s first album Pearly Sue is a diamond in the rough, which although not perfect lets us know: a new superstar is is approaching! Those of us who experienced the Trio live during the Popkomm at “Berlin meets Vienna 4” are still in awe today. Songs which keep looping in our heads , because they are made up of 99% soul, interpreted with an intense attitude, like we usually only experience when BASE-jumping… and all of this fronted by Brendan Adams, who could be the second soul of Stevie Wonder. Pearly Sue encompasses twelve times melancholic euphoria. Without prescription! www.cd-aktuell.de, Februar 07

Besides namesake Brendan Adams (vocals/guitar) the trio consists of Markus DePretto (bass) and Alfred Vogel (percussion). On Pearly Sue they present 12 songs which sway between mellow acoustic popsongs and jazz, with funk and blues elements. Brendan Adams manages to, with the help of his multi-faceted voice, give the songs deep-seated emotions. The lyrics are expressive and clearly formulated. They seem very personal, which is especially illustrated by the title song. This album has nothing on offer for people who like rock. It won’t appeal to those who want to dance either. However, those who open their minds to the band and commit a quiet hour to the album will definitely take pleasure from it. An interesting, thoughtful album. www.hoerspiegel.de, Februar 07

A great, laidback swinging mix of pop, hiphop, jazz, folk and a great dose of melancholy. To stare in the eyes of a beautiful woman, to enjoy a glass of wine and to hear Brendan sing “I dream of you“… An evening couldn’t be more romantic! www.aktueel-online.nl/show.php
