is a new Berlin based concrete jazz-core/noise duo which started performing live in late Autumn 2013. Both artists are a highly prolific and involved in numerous projects in the capital. Their musical output is varied & ranges from jazz, noise, free improv, new music or musique concrete. ILOG focusses on very crisp energetic cut up pieces combining old school free jazz energy with a solid punk attitude & current streams of electro-acoustic & concrete noises. The music is strictly improvised, fast moving and refreshing. Their first couple of shows in Berlin very received with great enthusiasm by the
Berlin experimental music community. Besides the debut release on Boomslang Records they are preparing the “ILOG Noise Symphony” which will premiere with international guest artist
in early 2016.

Ignaz Schick (turntables)

Turntablist, sound artist, performer/composer and visual artist. In his youth he studied the saxophone and performed in free jazz and avant rock bands. At the same time he was getting obsessed with multitrack tape machines, record players and effect boxes and he started experimenting with many different instruments and sound making devices. After college he briefly studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and worked for several years as an assistent for contemporary composer Josef Anton Riedl. Since 1995 he lives & works in Berlin where he became an active and integral force of the so-called “Berlin Nouvelle Vague” and the blossoming “experimental” msuic scene. He has been also prolific as curator (Festival für Andere Musik, Erase & Reset, Time Shifts, TITO, Echtzeitmusiktage 2010, …) and runs the experimental music label Zarek.
Schick has toured worldwide solo or with groups like Perlonex, Phosphor, Berlin Sound Connective, Nighthawk Kitchen, Tree People, Splitter Orchestra (…). He has released music on several labels like Absinth, Charhizmha, Irrah, Le Petit Mignon, Mikroton, Non Visual Objects, Potlatch, Staalplaat and his own imprint Zarek and collaborated with more than a hundred international sonic artists – amongst others with Mwata Bowden, Don Cherry, Sven-Ake Johansson, Toshi Nakamura, Charlemagne Palestine, Andrea Parkins, Keith Rowe, Matthias Spahlinger or Martin Tetreault.
Since 2012 he focusses on conceptual composition and experimental radio pieces. In parallel he has started several new projects with a younger generation of Berlin experimentalists (Yemen Breakfast, Radio Nightmares, Hawking, Overdue, Ilog, …).

Oliver Steidle (drums/percussion)

Oliver Steidle studied music at the Nuremberg Conservatory and lives in Berlin since 2000. There he has become one of the most in demand contemporary percussionists.
He is the founder/member of his own free jazz combo “Soko Steidle, since 2002 he is part of the band “Der Rote Bereich” and performs as composer or sideman in numerous groups (Klima Kalima, Rowk Music, Tama Trio, Philm, ddAa, Die Dicken Finger, John Schroeder Quartett, Steidle/Erdmann/Lenina).
Stylisticly he is active in various musical contexts from improivised music, free jazz to new music. He collaborated in projects of the composer Michael Werthmüller and Ensemble Courage and performed concerts with amongst others Peter Brötzmann, Tristan Honsinger, Louis Sclavis, Simon Nabatov, Alexander Schlippenbach, Sean Bergin, Aki Takase, Uli Gumpert, Axel Dörner, Ab Baars, Trevor Dunn any many others. For his work he received many prizes (amongst others “Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis in 2008) and released more than 40 CDs.
